Medical illustration requires an in depth knowledge of anatomical processes and biological specimens. It takes many years to refine the craft of medical illustration. With the proper exercise and practice the visual representation of certain images and illustrations can be on par with real life counterparts. This is meant to give an in depth, often close-up, view of vital components of medical related cases to lay members in attendance. The scrupulous dedication to the details help to paint a very vivid picture and bring proceedings to life without the need for live specimens, which would be improper for the court room setting.
